About Minkyung:

Minkyung Chung, LMHC, MS, is a licensed mental health counselor and active counselor on Talkspace. Min is also a part of the Talkspace Council of Mental Health Experts team. She has been practicing and researching within the field for over 13 years. She was influenced by her own experiences in therapy to start the journey as a counselor and has worked to dispel the stigma and negative perceptions held within culturally diverse communities. Her focus has been on working with individuals within the Asian American community and her research focus has fueled this passion.

Educational Information

Minkyung Chung attended the University of Miami for 4.5 years and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in psychology and minor in sociology. She went on to Barry University and completed their four year Master’s of Science program in Clinical Psychology. During her time in her masters program she focused on researching mental health practices and how it pertained to the Asian American community. She stayed with Barry University and is currently completing her doctorate with the same research focus working within the Asian American community.

Experience

Min has worked in a wide array of institutions within the mental health field in her over 13 years of experience. She has worked with at-risk adults, in school settings, and within the private practice settings. Her key areas of focus are working with culturally diverse populations with an emphasis on the Asian American community. She uses her experiences from the various settings she worked within to help clients in the best ways possible.
