Dr. Metzger, MD, is a senior clinical advisor and psychiatrist with passions in women’s health, building mental health awareness in communities of color and working with young adults. She provides clinical expertise for press/public initiatives on Talkspace research and mental health in the news. She provides support with writing, providing quotes, and medically reviewing clinical content. She also sees clients on the Talkspace platform.

Educational Information
Dr. Metzger is a board certified psychiatrist who manages her private practice in Atlanta, Georgia. She majored in psychology at Emory University and then completed her medical degree at Morehouse School of Medicine. She completed her residency in psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine. She has completed research at Stanford Medical School and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She is a fellow of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Metzger is currently on faculty as a professor of psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine, Medical College of Georgia and Morehouse School of Medicine.
Experience
Dr. Metzger has been in practice for over 10 years and received numerous accolades. She was recognized as a member of Emory University’s inaugural class of 40 under Forty. She also was the recipient of the Top 10 under 40 award by Morehouse School of Medicine. She has shared her expertise on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), ABC, NBC, and in The New York Times. Dr. Metzger’s motto of “better mind, better life” encourages audiences to prioritize their mental health in life’s balance. She also is the co-author of best selling book The Modern Trophy Wife: How To Achieve Your Goals While Thriving At Home.
