Frequently
Asked Questions

Who is eligible for this program?

All current Talkspace therapists and employees can refer eligible therapist friends to Talkspace.

Your friend must 1) be an independently licensed therapist, 2) have never applied to be a Talkspace therapist previously, and 3) hold clinical licensure to practice in our accepted states below.

What is the list of acceptable states?

Currently, your friend must hold licensure in one or more of these states for you both to be eligible for referral rewards: Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington D.C, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

If your friend holds licensure in multiple states, as long as one of their licenses is in an eligible state, both you and your friend will be eligible for the referral rewards. Please see the examples below:

  • Licensed in Alaska (Eligible) + Alabama (Ineligible) = ELIGIBLE
  • Licensed in Alabama (Ineligible) + Idaho (Ineligible) + Mississippi (Ineligible) = INELIGIBLE
How will I know when my referral is successful?

A referral is successful after your friend, the referred applicant, becomes credentialed with Talkspace. Afterward, you and your friend will receive an email to redeem your reward.

How much will my referred friend and I receive for a successful referral?

For a successful referral, you will receive a $300 reward and your friend (the referred therapist) will receive a $150 reward. There is no limit to the number of eligible therapists you can refer!

Reward redemption options are either a Visa gift card, an e-commerce gift card (Amazon, Target, etc.), or a donation to charity.

What does it mean to be credentialed with Talkspace?

Being credentialed with Talkspace allows a therapist to receive clients from our partnerships with health plans and employee assistance programs. The credentialing process happens concurrently with a therapist beginning work with our direct-to-consumer (DTC) clients.

What happens if I want to refer someone licensed in an ineligible state?

While we will not provide a bonus when you refer a friend licensed only in ineligible states, you can still use your unique link to refer that friend to Talkspace. We still hire therapists licensed in states that are ineligible for a bonus.
